Today I Learned...
Galaxies captured in
photographs by the Hubble Telescope were forming when the universe was just 600
million years old (the universe is thought to be 13.7 billion years old). It took billions of light years to
reach the scope for us to photograph and see them, and we are seeing the galaxies as they were 12.4 billion years ago.
