Supernatural Month

Supernatural Month

O
ctober marks the changing of the seasons, the movement from warm, muggy summer to cool, crisp fall days.  To celebrate this time of transition, we at Jessup Library have declared October “Supernatural Month.”  Ghosts, vampires, witches, creatures, aliens, UFOs, myths, legends, all manner of things that go bump in the night are available on our shelves!

Start with classic Edgar Allan Poe tales in The Illustrated Edgar Allan Poe, including “The Cask of Amontillado”, “The Fall of the House of Usher”, and “The Pit and the Pendulum” and experience the spine-chilling works of a master macabre writer.  Or, read about who Bram Stoker based his classic villain Dracula on, from Vlad the Impaler to Mephistopheles in Who Was Dracula?:  Bram Stoker’s Trail of Blood.  Discover the origins of Halloween in Lisa Morton’s Trick or Treat:  A History of Halloween.

Curl up in a blanket and enjoy the creepy and crawly from the safety of your favorite armchair with a book that makes your hair stand on end @ Jessup Library.
