Love Books

ebruary is the heart of
winter. At February’s heart is the day
of love. Proclaimed the month to Love
Books by Jessup Library, we are celebrating all kinds of love, from romantic to
familial to fraternal. And we are also celebrating
the love of books, not just books about love.
To get started, try The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, a devastatingly poignant book about two
teenagers who have cancer and fall in love, and discover the meaning of what it
is to be alive. Or, read Michael
Ondaatje’s beautiful classic The English Patient, an exploration of the
stories of four people at the end of WWII and the consequences of our actions
in life and love. A book that is about
sisterhood, Text Me When You Get Home by Kayleen Schaefer is a glimpse
into the world of female friendships and the important bonds that women make
throughout their lives.
Love is a many-splendored
thing. Love is multi-faceted and this February
we at Jessup Library want you to find love in books. Our shelves are brimming with words, all you
have to do is crack open a book!
