Celebrate National Library Week!

This week is National Library Week!  There are a lot of services shut down right now due to the COVID crisis, but that is the wonderful thing about the library, they find a way to get information to you no matter what!  So, go ahead, “Find the library at your place!”

To help keep everyone sane, libraries offer ebooks, audiobooks, and databases that include movies, art, and photography to help with entertainment, or your next paper.

One of Jessup Library’s services is providing ebooks, which can be found through searching our collection at https://www.pvcc.edu/student-services/library, or through OverDrive at https://vccs.overdrive.com/, which includes audiobooks of popular novels, as well as nonfiction.

Check out Kanopy to watch diverse films from popular movies to documentaries, or the database Films on Demand, which gives students and faculty access to films from various networks, including PBS, BBC, ABC, and even HBO (so if you haven’t watched Chernobyl, there’s no time like the present!).  The database access list is found at the following address:  https://libguides.pvcc.edu/database-list/videos.

National Library Week is more important now than ever before, as our libraries provide sustenance for the mind at this trying time.  Go ahead, watch a movie, listen to a book, write that paper on Matisse!
