New Books

It is late August and if you won't take our word for it Jessup Library would like to congratulate you on your ability to Think Critically.  Of course you may choose to believe it's September and time for pumpkin spice lattes and that is quite fine. Public Shaming has no place on the menu even if you are a member of The October Faction. Membership is free with a plaid scarf donation.  And speaking of menus (were we really or is this yet another example of The Misinformation Age?) may we recommend a cookbook for the current times of cooking and dining at home -- Chinese Heritage Cooking.  This particular cookbook asks and answers the eternal question: To Wok or Not to Wok.

Once you have cooked and eaten your dinner, feel free to relax while someone else does the dishes. You can explore The Science of Chocolate while you contemplate a vital question:  if we are all stuck at home, who is Searching for the Lost Tombs of Egypt? And what is that noise coming from the kitchen? Could it be The End of American Childhood

Maybe you're tired. Exhausted by blogs that have more questions than answers and which seem to be written by someone who is definitely not A Very Stable Genius. You just want to lose yourself in a good book. Your patience is rewarded!  Jessup Library is here with more than One Good Deed. We also have the following new books located in the Nook and Popular sections of the library:  Chain of GoldThe Mirror and the LightThe Night WatchmanThe Giver of Stars, and The Last Wish.

Signing off until the next New Books blog entry, we leave you with this last book recommendation: The Joy of Search: a Google Insider's Guide to Going Beyond the Basics. The right search might reveal How to Be Human in the Digital Economy
