#fridayreads: The New York Times

The New York Times was founded on September 18, 1851. Its tradition of publishing "All the News That's Fit to Print" continues today. If the news isn't fit to print you might find that misinformation on a library blog. Our publishing department consists of three indifferent cats!

However, if you are looking for something to read other than cat food reviews, Jessup Library has print books about journalism -- The News Media: What Everyone Needs to KnowCovering America: A Narrative History of a Nation's Journalism, and Breaking News: The Remaking of Journalism and Why It Matters Now.  We also have The New York Times Book of Physics and Astronomy as well as The New York Times Book of Mathematics. The New York Times Book of Cat Toys is in eternal pre-publication status.

As newspapers have expanded into online editions, it's a good time to mention that Jessup Library has the following electronic books for you to check out: Making News at the New York Times and Endtimes? crises and turmoil at the New York times, 1999-2009. We now turn our attention back to our cat overlords.
