#fridayreads: Halloween
Halloween 2020, also known as the one day per year when children are happy to wear masks, arrives tomorrow. Are you ready? If candy isn't appealing we suggest you seek medical treatment immediately OR perhaps you would like to stock up on some booooooooks instead? Jessup Library is handing them out year-round but our special Halloween treats include Trick or Treat: a history of Halloween, Ghostland: an American history in haunted places, The Penguin Book of the Undead, American Vampires, and The Super Natural: a new vision of the unexplained (referring, no doubt to the unexplained mystery of who ate all of the Reese's peanut butter cups and left the Almond Joys).
If ghosts have you trapped in the house and huddled around a pumpkin with no carving knife we have electronic books that you can take a mental stab at. Try Halloween From Pagan Ritual to Party Night or Parapsychology: the science of unusual experience .
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
