#fridayreads: World Vegetarian Day
What's up, Doc? Funny you should ask, as October 1 was World Vegetarian Day and Elmer Fudd was definitely not invited to the celebratory feast. In recent years kale and cauliflower have become very popular but at Jessup Library we love all fruits and vegetables equally. We offer the following books with information about vegetarianism: Animal Liberation and Eating Animals. Both probably have a place by (or in?) the fire at the Fudd homestead, although they may not see much use.
If you would like to browse cookbooks for vegetarian recipes we have those, too. Try Bowl for one-dish meals, Herbivoracious, Small Planet, Small Plates, or The Plantiful Table.
Too busy assembling your Acme Corporation patented EZ vegetable slicer and dicer to make it into the library to pick up a print book? No problem! We have electronic books that you can read while practicing your Rabbit of Seville arias at home. Ethical Vegetarianism and Veganism and The Ethics of Eating Animals are just two of the selections available. If you need any help finding more books or articles about vegetarianism (or veganism) please feel free to contact library staff at 434-961-5309 or online here. That's all, folks!
