One Book Event: PVCC Symposium on Race & Racism

One Book Event: Monday, November 2nd

6:00pm - 9:00pm

Would you like to share your experiences regarding racial inequality and be a voice of change? Would you like to hear about racial inequality from another’s perspective?

Join us, Monday, November 2nd, 2020 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm for a virtual symposium on Race and Racism.

In response to this year’s One Book: How to Be an Antiracist, by Ibram X. Kendi and the growing national consciousness of racial inequality, PVCC will be holding this symposium the day before the 2020 election. This symposium will provide a platform for individuals to share stories, thoughts, concerns, research, and other observations regarding racial inequality.

Register here to attend the symposium.

If you wish to participate as a speaker, submit your presentation here.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to present at the event. We are accepting a wide array of expression, including, but not limited to: essays, poems, open letters, songs, dances, interviews, etc. You may even submit anonymously. After the event, we hope to present the submissions to representatives in state and local government, pending the approval of individual discussants.
