#fridayreads: Cookbooks
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and if you need help with your menu Jessup Library has a wide variety of cookbooks. Don't feel limited by the usual food offerings -- you can shake things up and offer non-traditional items found in Afro-Vegan: farm-fresh African, Caribbean & Southern flavors remixed. Or you might want to try a recipe from The Best of Flavors (the sequel, "The Worst of Flavors" will remain in pre-production forever), or get speedy results from The Culinary Institute of America's Gourmet Meals in Minutes. Two famous bloggers have published cookbooks with their tried-and-true recipes that anyone can make at home: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: a year of holidays contains planning advice and step-by-step instructions as well as recipes with detailed photographs from Ree Drummond who lives on a ranch in Oklahoma. Smitten Kitchen Every Day showcases recipes developed by Deb Perelman in her New York City kitchen.
Are you too busy elbowing other grocery shoppers to make it to the library to pick up a print book? We have electronic books that you can browse from the couch. How about The Meat Lover's Meatless Cookbook or The Perfect Blending Cookbook? Jessup Library wishes you a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
