National Garden Month

Gardens have several uses:  growing food, growing beautiful flowers to feed the bees and insects (which in turn gives us food), and even growing trees to house birds and give shade.  Whatever the need, gardens are an integral part of our world and we are celebrating them this April!

After a particularly hard winter, nothing quickens the heart like seeing green shoots come out of the muddy earth, or watching flowers begin to unfurl in March and bloom in April. Whether one wishes to grow cucumbers and tomatoes, or dahlias and tulips, Jessup Library has a vast selection of books on plants, from herbalism, vegetables and fruits, to how plants grow.

Enjoy the warmer weather with a good read about the outdoors!
