The Catcher in the Rye turns 70 years old today. Rumor has it that the author, J. D. Salinger, was hungry for lunch when he started writing this book but when in doubt -- verify your sources!  Perhaps Salinger was actually having lunch with Charles Bukowski, author of Ham on Rye.
