Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter

This month's New Books blog post title is brought to you by Curtis Jackson, also known as 50 Cent, whose book Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter has joined the likes of Transaction man : the rise of the deal and the decline of the American dream, and The CEO next door : the 4 behaviors that transform ordinary people into world-class leaders. Three books with different views on comebacks, success, leadership, and how to strategize to get the most out of a free lunch buffet. Okay, maybe not that last bit, but it never hurts to have a plan of action.

Are you interested in a book written in German and translated into English, written about Scandinavia, Iceland, and the Arctic? You're in luck as Jessup Library has acquired Extreme North : a cultural history. Thinking about going on a hike? You might want to consult Edible wild plants : a North American field guide to over 200 natural foods. Be aware that the guide is only for North American plants. If you see a tasty-looking plant on another continent, you're on your own.

After you've collected, eaten, or tossed your edible wild plants, it's time for dessert. Actually, it's always time for dessert and we have a new book to help you out: The good book of Southern baking : a revival of biscuits, cakes, and cornbread.  Publication date of the sequel "The bad book of Southern baking: salt and sugar are not interchangeable" is yet to be determined.

We leave you with one last book suggestion... A brief history of Earth : four billion years in eight chapters. The description says "The story of our home planet and the organisms spread across its surface is far more spectacular than any Hollywood blockbuster, filled with enough plot twists to rival a bestselling thriller." Pass the popcorn!
