🏖️ Summer Reads Month

Summertime is upon us and it is a great time to read those books you have been meaning to get to all year! Traditionally, summer is the time of the beach read--a light, entertaining book that keeps you turning those pages! This summer is no different at Jessup Library and we have put together a display of some of the best books for reading in your hammock.

Dive in to the deep end with Bridgerton's original book The Duke and I, a steamy Regency era book that the hit Netflix show was based upon. Check out popular read Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, or experience the deep south in the '60s in The Secret Life of Bees. Of course, there are many non-fiction books to entertain and inform, such as Fat Girls Hiking by Summer Michaud-Skog which encourages people of all shapes and sizes to enjoy the great outdoors, including personal stories from members of the group and helpful trail reviews. Following the great outdoors theme, take a walk in the woods with The Hidden Life of Trees and discover how interconnected the world of trees really is in so many ways--from the fungi in their roots to how they communicate and care for each other. Julia Child's My Life in France delves into her roots in French cookery and her life with her husband as it unfolded in France beginning in the late '40s.

This summer, read what you want! Entertain your brain with fun or informative books that keep you wanting to read more!
